Signature Engineering

We solve the parts other teams call impossible.

When a sensor “can't” hit the precision, a board “can't” be that small, or a battery “can't” last that long, that is the work we take on. Here are three examples.

Sub-degree rotation from commodity IMUs

Off-the-shelf low-cost IMUs cannot resolve fine rotation on their own — especially in a swinging, magnetically noisy environment where magnetometers are useless. We fused three 6-DOF IMUs with custom filters that dynamically cancel gyro drift, and held 0.5 to 60 deg/s within ~10% error on a board costing under $100 to make.

A 10 mm board that reaches 12 km

We put GPS, a radio, and an MCU on a 10 mm square — deliberately breaking the chip vendors' space and ground-plane rules — and made it work on nothing but a short wire antenna. It transmits location 2-3 times a minute for ~30 hours on a 60 mAh battery and reaches ~12 km ground-to-ground with a custom receiver.

A sensor that fits inside an egg

We built a circular board that fits inside a regular duck egg to monitor incubation vitals across a 12-acre farm — communicating over direct RF with no Wi-Fi, with a collision-free protocol for thousands of nodes, running 3+ months on a tiny battery, with everything (electronics, battery, antenna) inside the shell.
